CSU Chico Behavioral and Social Sciences

Welcoming back and engaging students on campus is a big success at the new CSU Chico Behavioral and Social Sciences building. This design-build by Turner Construction and AC Martin incorporates active learning classrooms, lecture rooms, admin and faculty offices, conference rooms, and breakout areas. And our team delivered a variety of flexible furniture solutions to activate the space.

22 classrooms, numerous study, lounge and "in-between" spaces, instructional labs, one large lecture hall and admin and faculty office spaces for all departments in the new net zero College of Behavioral and Social Sciences building, offer students and staff choice, comfort and flexibility.
Student engagement, choices for the right place to study, learn, focus or gather, and wellness/comfort were key design features. Planned variety across mobile tables and seating, sizes, heights and shapes, proximity to power sources, natural light and views to nature create inviting environments throughout the building.
Active learning spaces for students, holistic workspaces for faculty and staff, spacious indoor environments, ample access to sunlight and nature in this 94K SF building are creating the desired buzz on campus.
