“One of this innovative building’s highlights is its ability to house folks with very stressful jobs into working conditions that are lighter and more relaxed.” Supervisor Carole Groom
Developed in a modular style for greater flexibility, the ROC utilizes flexible wall systems and an on-demand furniture system with the ability to expand real time to meet situational requirements.
Flexibility is a key design component for both architecture and furniture; dedicated conference rooms with expandable walls easily convert to a response center with the use of folding tables and stackable chairs. Furniture design requirements include desking for dedicated functions like the 911 center, and ad hoc spaces for deputies and other personnel who spend most of their time in the field.
With many behind the scenes functional areas and folks with stressful roles, access to natural light and nature are offered wherever possible to provide their calming effects.
